EDUC696 - Current Issues in Education Capstone

Capstone Course; project tied all previous learning together; using appropriate learning theories, create an online learning course following instructional design practices based on learner characteristics and training strategy, evaluate and assess created course; select appropriate computer tools for course delivery.

The Topic of the Project:
 This project entailed the creation of an online course to introduce new college students to two important professional development skills necessary for their success: mind management and time management.

Relevance and Benefit: 
As an Instructional Designer and the Professional Development Curriculum Manager at the VA Acquisition Academy, Acquisition Internship School, one of my purposes is to help wounded warriors transition into acquisition related fields in the federal government. A big part of the challenge is transitioning from a warrior mindset to a civilian mindset. This project focuses on two areas (Mind and Time Management) that would be beneficial to our wounded warrior cohort members. I plan to pursue using a version of this course as part of the orientation session for future cohorts.
