Module 6: My Professional Brand
Transcript
My professional brand can be described as two words: Creative Persistence.
Michelangelo once wrote, "For those who feel it, nothing makes the soul so religious and pure as the endeavor to create something perfect; for God is perfection, and whoever strives after it, is striving after something divine. True painting is only the image of the perfection of God, a shadow of the pencil with which he paints, a melody, a striving after harmony" (Gasque, 2006).
Being made in God's image, as a believer having the Holy Spirit living within me, I desire to be like my Father, to reflect His image, His Love, His Perfection. But as a sinner, I will never be able to truly reflection Him in the way that my heart desire. And so I strive for creative persistence. To strive for something that, although I know I can never fully realize here on this earth, is something that drives my testimony for Him.
This creative persistence drives my values, my goals, my devotion to my work, my family, and my God.
How do I communicate this brand to others? By following creative persistence in every area of my life. And when glory or attribution does come for my efforts, to always remember Soli Deo Gloria: To God Alone Be the Glory.
Amen
